Tattoo aftercare is the thing people neglect the most when taking care of their tattoos both when they are new and after their tattoos are healed.

Think about it, tattoos are ink injected below the skin. Take care of the skin incorrectly, and your tattoo will pay the price. For us ladies, skin care is something we think about more often then men, so this might make more sense, however our gentlemen counterparts sometimes don’t put 2 and 2 together.
Since simple everyday products and common sense apply to taking care of your tattoo when it’s new, we really wanted to focus on something that would keep your tattoo looking new for the long term.
That being said, we searched high and low for a skin care product that would help us with tattoos that have already healed, since the biggest complaint we get from our readers is that their tattoos fade over time.

New Tattoo Care
* Leave your tattoo wrapped up for 2 hours
* Wash your hands before touching your new tattoo.
* Wash your tattoo with anti-bacterial soap.
* Air dry or pat dry with a paper towel.
* Apply Curel (available at your local store) after washing or whenever your tattoo feels dry.
* Repeat the washing process for 3 to 5 days.
* DO NOT scratch or pick at your new tattoo!
* NO tanning beds & NO prolonged sun exposure!
* Normal showering is O.K.
Care After Tattoo Has Healed
Use sunscreen with at least an SPF of 20 during prolonged sun exposure to keep tattoos from fading.
